Professional Experience

Preston Young serves as National Head of Stream’s Investor Services Platform.  In this role, he oversees the strategy and advancement of all disciplines – leasing, property management and project management – serving the firm’s office and industrial portfolios, nationwide. Stream’s portfolio is ranked among one of the largest in the United States with over 400.0 million square feet across 15 markets.

Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Young led the firm’s Houston office, which consistently remains one of the largest and most prominent commercial real estate organizations in Houston. Under his leadership, Stream has consistently been ranked as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the Houston Business Journal and “Top Workplaces” by the Houston Chronicle and are perennial recipients of Costar’s “Power Broker,” an award recognizing the top commercial real estate brokerage firms by city.

Leadership and service are also a major point of emphasis for Mr. Young where he provides guidance to a multitude businesses as well as philanthropic and academic institutions.  He serves as Chairman of the Board for Western Academy and is the immediate past Chairman for the St. John Paul II Foundation for Life & Family.  He is also a Board Member for Dauntless Group Inc. and serves as a Board of Trustees for the Free Enterprise Institute.  Mr. Young is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) serving on the Urban Development & Mixed-Use Blue Council and the Advisory Committee for ULI Houston.  He also remains heavily involved with his alma mater, Texas A&M University, serving as an Advisory Board member for Mays Business School and is a member of the 12th Man Foundation’s Champions Council.  Additionally, Mr. Young is routinely a guest lecturer on a multitude of commercial real estate topics for various trade associations and universities including Rice University, Texas A&M University, ULI and National Association of Office & Industrial Parks (NAIOP).

In 2018, the Houston Business Journal honored Mr. Young as one of the top “40 Under 40” business leaders in Houston.  Before joining Stream, Mr. Young served in the capital markets division at Trammell Crow Company.
