Professional Experience

J.C. Clemens Jr. serves as Managing Director for Stream’s Investment Management platform, which currently manages five opportunistic commingled discretionary funds and separate account mandates totaling over $2 billion of equity. He is responsible for sourcing strategic investment opportunities and assisting with capital formation for the platform’s series of discretionary fund vehicles.

Additionally, J.C. is a member of Stream’s Value Preservation Advisors (VPA) group. By leaning on Stream’s dual role as both real estate owners and service providers, the multi-disciplinary VPA team provides solutions to lenders and property owners across all asset classes and products by offering an agile platform to preserve value and mitigate loss for lenders and stakeholders that may require additional resources for handling challenging situations.

Prior to joining Stream, J.C. was a Partner and Head of Capital Formation at Flagship Capital Partners, where he led fundraising and production initiatives for a series of discretionary closed-end funds focused on value-add and opportunistic credit and equity investments nationwide. The funds specifically targeted value-add real estate projects across all major property types with an emphasis on multifamily.

Before Flagship Capital Partners, J.C. spent several years at HFF, L.P. (now JLL) in Houston, working across both capital markets and investment sales. While at HFF, he participated in and closed more than $4.85 billion in transactions. His work included multifamily investment sales as well as arranging debt and equity placements across all major property types—retail, industrial, office, and mixed-use—throughout the United States.

J.C. is actively involved in both the real estate and nonprofit communities. He serves on the Boards of NAIOP and the Council on Recovery and is also an active volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
