International Investors Still Hot on Houston

November 13 < 1

Unsolicited international interest in the first office building built in the Galleria area in nearly 30 years got the developers’ attention. They put BBVA Compass Tower, a 22-story building at 2200 Post Oak Blvd., on the market despite poor economic conditions stemming from low oil prices. And they got a buyer.

Preston Young, regional managing partner in Houston for Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners LP, one of the developers of the tower, talks about the sale and shelving Phase II of the development, which could include 343,000 square feet of high-end office and retail space on 29 floors.
