Professional Experience
Carter Byrnes is an Executive Vice President in Stream’s Northern Virginia office, where he leads landlord leasing and tenant representation across Tysons, Reston/Herndon, Rosslyn-Ballston, National Landing, and Merrifield, and heads the firm’s healthcare real estate services. Licensed in Virginia and Maryland, Carter currently represents more than 4 million square feet of office product across Northern Virginia, advising institutional owners on asset value and leasing strategy alongside tenant clients across medical, government, and professional sectors.
Before joining Stream in 2022, Carter spent more than 18 years at CBRE, rising from Senior Associate to Senior Vice President. Carter co-founded the Northern Virginia leasing team and built CBRE’s healthcare practice group from the ground up, negotiating more than 3.1 million square feet of lease and sale transactions valued at more than $525 million. Earlier in his career, he served as a Market Analyst with Insignia/ESG prior to its 2003 merger with CBRE.
