Professional Experience
Derek S. Lewis joined Stream to lead Tenant Representation efforts with a focus on office, industrial, and select retail facility objectives. Derek specializes in aligning interim, long-range, and budgetary objectives with corporate tenant facility requirements. In this capacity, his work includes lease, purchase, build-to-suit, and sale-leaseback transactions on behalf of his clients.
Derek returned to Stream following a 10-year period at Lincoln Property Company, where he led Tenant Representation efforts and supported development, leasing, and property management initiatives. Prior to joining Lincoln in February 2016, Derek served as a Partner and Managing Director of Stream’s Tenant Representation group.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Derek developed a background in public policy, working in both Texas and Washington, District of Columbia. He served as a political appointee under President George H.W. Bush within the International Trade Administration of the United States Department of Commerce, the Presidential Advance Team, and the Republican National Committee. After returning to Texas, Derek became Executive Director of the National Council of Contractors Association, where he served as Legislative Liaison for the association’s program initiatives.
Derek was raised in Paris, Texas, and values time outdoors. He enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, and time along the spring-fed waters of the Texas Hill Country and the Texas Gulf Coast. Derek is the proud husband of Julie and father of Henry and Frances.
