Luis Lara is the Vice President of Energy & Sustainability within Stream Realty Partners’ Manufacturing Food & Beverage and Distribution platform. Luis is a trusted expert in guiding clients toward high-performance, energy-efficient, and cost-effective building solutions. With a deep understanding of energy modeling, decarbonization, and MEP systems, he integrates design intent, operational goals, and financial performance to deliver measurable results aligned with clients’ sustainability ambitions.
Luis brings a data-driven mindset to every project, leveraging advanced simulation tools and years of experience in energy code compliance, energy audits, renewable power generation, and project financing. From early design phases through post-occupancy operations, he provides the strategic insight necessary to navigate complex sustainability goals, helping organizations make informed, value-driven decisions that future-proof their facilities.
Before joining Stream, Luis served as Director of Decarbonization at JLL, where he led large-scale energy analyses and net zero feasibility studies across the globe. His earlier work with DataBased+ anchored his expertise in mechanical systems design, LEED certification, and human-centered sustainability. A recognized voice in the building performance space, Luis shares thought leadership regularly with a growing social media audience and serves on key industry committees shaping the future of green buildings.
