Scott Sowanick

Senior Director

Scott Sowanick joined Stream in 2015 and currently serves as Senior Director of the firm’s Industrial Development Services division where he leads the business in the Western Region. Scott is responsible for the origination and execution of all new opportunities across his coverage universe with a particular focus on continuing to grow the industrial development platform in Greater Los Angeles. In 2018, he helped spearhead the initial expansion of Stream’s industrial development platform into Greater Los Angeles by sourcing Santa Ana Commerce Center, the firm’s first California industrial development located in the Inland Empire (Fontana, CA). Santa Ana Commerce Center began as an unentitled land acquisition in the fourth quarter of 2018 and resulted in a fee development that delivered 100 percent pre-leased in the fourth quarter of 2020 on behalf of the project’s institutional owner. Since that initial land acquisition, Scott has secured over 1.8 million square feet of new industrial development opportunities across Greater Los Angeles for the firm.

In 2020 Scott was selected to serve on the Women of Stream Sub-Committee, which focuses on addressing gender diversity, inclusion, mentorship, and improving the recruitment and retention for women within the firm. He also serves as a Council Member of the Texas Real Estate Center at the University of Texas at Austin and a Member of NAIOP (Inland Empire Chapter).

Prior to Stream, Scott earned his Masters of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin where he served as the Co-President of the Graduate Real Estate Society, Co-Founder of the McCombs Real Estate Private Equity Fund, Portfolio Manager on the McCombs REIT Fund, and member of the McCombs Admissions Committee. Before business school, he served as a Vice President in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global institutional equities business where he worked in New York, London and San Francisco.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Princeton University where he was Team Captain, 2x All-American, 3x All-Ivy League, and a 4-year starter on the Princeton Men’s Lacrosse Team
