An iconic office tower in Midtown Atlanta’s skyline will have a new look inside and out after a comprehensive eight-figure makeover for its 35th anniversary.
999 Peachtree owner Piedmont Office Realty Trust is investing in the Class A property after acquiring it in the fourth quarter of 2021. The LEED Platinum, 28-story building featuring over 620,000 square feet of office space at the prominent intersection of 10th and Peachtree streets will undergo a major transformation expected to begin in summer 2022. The project will include a reimagined lobby and building entrance, reinvigorated outdoor collaboration spaces, state-of-the-art conference facilities, a modern fitness center, and new food and beverage offerings focused on delivering a best-in-class tenant experience.
999 Peachtree is in the heart of Midtown Atlanta and provides easy access to Piedmont Park, 2 pocket parks, and a MARTA station just 1.5 blocks away. The area has nearly 150 restaurants in the core along with 6,000 current multifamily units and another 1,500 under construction within a 0.5-mile radius. Cisco, Airbnb, Google, Microsoft, Micron Technologies, Visa, and many other companies have committed to Midtown Atlanta in the last few years. The area has announced more than 3,600 new jobs since 2020, with 76.9% of residents having a bachelor’s degree or higher, making the labor pool ripe for hiring for companies relocating to the area.
The real estate investment trust has awarded leasing of the building to Stream Realty Partners, a national real estate services, development, and investment company based in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Atlanta and 13 other cities across the United States.
“We are excited to partner with Stream Realty for the office leasing at 999 Peachtree,” said Alex Valente, Executive Vice President – Southeast Region for Piedmont Office Realty Trust. “As the office environment continues to evolve, we look to reposition this asset and focus on delivering a best-in-class experience to our tenants and the surrounding community.”
Ben Hautt, Executive Managing Director and Partner of Stream Atlanta, said Piedmont’s major investment in the flagship building of the Peachtree Place development “will help redefine the workplace for thousands of employees who office here.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to find local companies a new home at 999 Peachtree and welcome out-of-state firms looking to relocate to Atlanta,” he said.
In addition to Hautt, Stream’s Christopher Dean, Billy Graddy, and Malik Leaphart will serve as leasing agents for 999 Peachtree.
