LOS ANGELES, CA – November 12, 2021 – Stream Realty Partners, a national real estate services, development, and investment company, is pleased to announce that it has represented Armata Pharmaceuticals in a new lease for its headquarters.
The stand-alone, creative office space at 5005 McConnell Ave. in Los Angeles will house administrative, research and development, and manufacturing functions in 56,300 square feet. Privately located close to Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, and the Silicon Beach tech hub and nestled against the Ballona Creek Bike Path, it offers convenient access to California State Route 90 (the Marina Freeway) and is well-connected to Interstates 405 and 105.
Armata Pharmaceuticals is a developer of pathogen-specific bacteriophage therapeutics for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant and difficult-to-treat bacterial infections using its proprietary bacteriophage-based technology. It is developing and advancing a broad pipeline of natural and synthetic phage candidates, including clinical candidates for Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and other pathogens. Armata is committed to advancing phage with drug development expertise that spans bench to clinic, including in-house, phage-specific cGMP manufacturing.
“Armata’s innovative phage therapy pipeline will be enhanced by our commitment to build out a new R&D facility that offers expanded GMP manufacturing capacity to support future pivotal studies and commercial launch,” said Dr. Brian Varnum, Armata’s Chief Executive Officer. “This new, state-of-the-art facility is essential for our novel product form given the scarcity of phage-specific manufacturing capacity.”
Stream Senior Vice President Tim Dwight and Senior Associate Caleb Hodge represented Armata. Jeff Pion, Andrew Riley, Michelle Esquivel-Hall, and Drew Pion of CBRE represented the landlord, Montana Avenue Capital Partners, LLC.
“It’s been incredibly exciting to be a part of Armata’s growth strategy,” Dwight said. “This new facility will allow them to expand their operation with state-of-the-art equipment while attracting top-tier talent.”
Hodge acknowledged the importance of Armata’s work and said the new location “not only meets their needs today but accommodates their needs for the future. It’s the perfect blend of ideal space and place that checked every box.”
